Attention California dwelling Flist Members!
Or those who know California living people, Please send them here.
For a class I'm in on Social Problems, I am doing a project on LGBT Issues. I'm working for a group based out of the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center. The LA GLC has a grassroots organizing & education project, called Vote for Equality, which is California's leading campaign to educate voters to speak out at the ballot box in support of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality.

Does the above statement apply to you?
Side note: If not, what the hell are you doing on my flist?
If you support equality and want to show your support (and really help me out in the process), it would be a great help if you could leave the information requested in the box below in a comment (which are screened).

FAQs
Does this mean I gotta like, work for them or something?
No, by giving the information you are not obligated to volunteer for the Vote for Equality campaign. You are simply saying that you support equal rights and vote that way when legislation comes up.
They want a lot of info. Do I have to give it all?
No, you do not have to supply all the information. What information you feel comfortable giving is fine.
Does filling this out mean I'm gay now?
No. Duh! It just means that you see the inate unfairness in legislation that takes rights away from any one group.
Do I now have to vote?
Have to? Well, no. But you should. Otherwise, legislation could be passed that will affect you personally and you will have not had your voice heard.
Why do gay couples need to be able marry anyway? What the hell is the big deal?
Without being able to marry LGBT couples and their children lack the basic rights & protections that come with a legally recognized civil marriage which includes:
Those are some pretty hefty rights, and ones that straight people get to benefit from, but LGBT people are denied. This country was not founded on the premise of denying rights, but of expanding them and (eventually) making them available to all.
Please guys, you could really be doing me a HUGE favor, plus it is a really good cause.
