I'm tired...
May. 19th, 2006 11:20 pmOy. I just finished and submitted my paper for my music class. It's due at 11:55 tonight (isn't online submission thingies great?) but managed to finish it with 50 minutes to spare. We had to pick an artist or group to write about who made a major difference in American music. I picked Buddy Holly and had a not too difficult time writing the paper, but it was just a ton of info to have to get out. I wrote most of it yesterday, but still had a good chunk to write today.
But I did, though now I'm exhausted.
I didn't finish it earlier, 'cuz we had the show tonight and the Roomie & I went to the movies earlier when I got out of class. There's not a whole lot out that sounded interesting, so we had agreed to see Poseidon (not a great choice since my family's prefered method of vacationing is cruising) but what can ya do? I checked and the movies was scheduled to start at 3:00. But we get to the theatre at 2:35 and the movie started at 2:20. After some thinking I realized that I wastoo tired to see straight an idiot and looked up times for the other theatre near campus. Since we were already there (an it was fucking hot!) and didn't feel like schlepping to the other theatre, we wound up seeing The Da Vinci Code.
First off, there was so much I didn't understand due to not have any knowledge of the New Testament. Roomie had to explain certain things to me in the car on the way back to school. So that kinda made the movie a bit of a pain for me.
Second, I hate Tom Hanks. Yeah, yeah...I know. How can you hate Tom Hanks?! Yeah I've heard the question a gazillion times, but I do- so get over it. Anyway, due to my non-fuzzy feelings towards Mr. Hanks, I (duh!) tend to avoid his movies. But Ian McKellen was in it and very good and so was Jean Reno who was fabulous and I loved seeing (Léon aka The Professional is one of my all time fav movies and how can I not love someone from the basis for my 1st die hard TV fanship, Nikita aka La Femme Nikita).
But overall, not my cup of tea. Or coffee.
:)

Date: 5/20/06 11:07 am (UTC)I do, too. I've boycotted all his films since Forrest Gump. He's not a brilliant actor. Indeed, he seems to have only one or two facial expressions and doesn't seem to be able to really get into character. When I heard that he had been cast in The Da Vinci Code I cringed; I couldn't see how he would do justice to the character in the book, which I enjoyed. I think I'd rather re-read the book than see the movie.
