So, I just got through seeing The Dark Knight. Wow...color me unimpressed. Seriously, I do NOT get what all the damn hype is about.
Oh wait...yes I do: the actor playing the Joker killed himself shortly after completing the role. Honestly, IMO that is the ONLY reason why this movie is/has gotten so much yap about it. Most would not give a shit about it nor pay any attention about it if Heath Ledger had not OD'd. And if you were gonna give him a bunch of awards for a role, it shoulda been for Brokeback Mountain, but don't get me started on the homophobia still prevalent in Hollywood. If he hadn't died, he wouldn't be getting awards. Plain and simple.
And to me, Jack Nicholson is still the only TRUE Joker.
And Christian Bale was doing a really bad Michael Keaton impersonation during the entire movie. The latter of which would be the only TRUE Batman to me. The only ones I liked in the movie were Aaron Eckhart, Gary Oldman, Maggie Gyllenhaal & Morgan Freeman.
My favorite Batman movies are still Tim Burton's versions from the 80s. They weren't about massive chase scenes or big explosions. It was about witty dialogue, great performances/delivery & amazing visuals that were unique to themselves. Batman has always been my favorite hero/comic book character and I just find it kinda sad where it's gone over the years.
I don't want any comments why it is the bestmovieevaomg! And that I am just missing the genius of it. My journal, my opinion and it's not changing.
