*sing-songs* Obi-Wan fucked Anakin....
Jul. 18th, 2005 09:03 pmI just went today and FINALLY saw Star Wars Episode III. FINALLY!
Every plan to see it previously just got screwed for one reason or another and today I finally made it! And it's a good thing too, since it's only showing in one theatre in the Valley and this is the last week!
So...um...WOW! AH-MAZING! And I am completely jumping on the Obi-Wan fucked Anakin bandwagon. Completely. They were soo fucking during their so-called 'Jedi Training'. It was so apparent towards the beginning of the movie when Anakin's got a hold of an unconscious Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan wakes up and grabs a tight hold of Anakin from behind. He looked quite comfortable and familiar in that position. Also gotta say, it did personally give me a little thrill everytime Anakin called Obi-Wan 'Master'. Jedis are soo kinky. And Padme is their fag hag.
Now I've been a looong time fan of Ewan McGregor and have seen almost all of his movies, even the hard to find ones (like Nightwatch~ quality flick, very creepy, one of my personal faves) but I wasn't all that thrilled at seeing him in Star Wars. It's gonna sound odd, but I almost felt it was beneath him acting-wise to take on a roll in movie that's practically all action. And I always felt that his character wasn't used nearly as much as it could have been in the previous two. But it was soo made up for in this one!
And how amazing was it seeing Darth Vader get built? I was completely awe-struck at the awesomeness of it all. And when the breathing was activated and he speaks and it was James Earl Jones' amazing voice. I got chills yo.
And another amazing soundtrack. I think the music without a doubt makes up for about 45% of the movie's awesomeness. Loved the little bits of 'The Imperial March' aka 'Vader's Theme' thrown in in various places of Anakin's demise. Took me back to memories of marching band in high school when we had a 'Star Wars' Field Show. Awesome sax part for Vader's theme.
And I felt so bad for Anakin getting manipulated so blatantly like he was. Was pissed at Padme for essentially abandoning her children like that though.
Was a bit confused remembering Leia stating that she remembered her mother to Luke in Return of the Jedi, since I always thought that she was referring to her birth mother, which would also be his. Was she talking about her adoptive mother? Also how come Obi-Wan didn't remember R2 or 3PO in Episode 4? Or R2 remember him? Only C-3PO's memory was supposed to be wiped, not R2's and Obi-Wan's wasn't.
Regardless *LOVED* it. And am always thrilled to see Yoda kickin' some ASS!! Priceless.
ETA: OMG! AND CHEWY!!! MY FAV CHARACTER FROM THE ORIGINAL 3!!! Awww...Chewbacca...so big...so brave!
